New Temporary Studio Facility used in US feature film ‘Leap Year’ Open for Business

The major US feature film, LEAP YEAR, staring Amy Adams (Doubt, Enchanted) and Matthew Goode (Watchmen) recently shot at a new temporary studio facility based in the heart of Dublin city in the Dublin Docklands. The new make-shift facility which previously stored frozen products was converted into three large studios and housed the Spyglass Entertainment production which had an Irish budget of €15m and 170 film crew.

The facility is made up of three former cold-store units housed within an outer warehouse structure which are "sound-proofed" as a result of the insulation used in its construction. The largest unit, A-Stage, is 23,424 square feet. The other two spaces, B-Stage and C-Stage, are 12, 320 sq ft each and can be combined to create one space of 24,640 sq ft in area. The stages have a ceiling height of 30 ft and all the space is clear span which makes it ideal for constructing large sets without obstruction. Access to the stages is via eight dock level truck loading bays.

The production office building is attached to the 3 sound stages and consists of 6,000 sq ft of usable space. There is over 40,000sq ft of parking on-site, which being so close to the city centre is a real asset.

The Docklands site provided the Leap Year production easy and quick access to the film's Dublin locations while Dublin Airport and the M50 were less than 15 minutes away through the Dublin Port Tunnel.

This facility is now available for productions.  Click here to view a brochure of the facility as well as a selection of photographs and contact details.
